About the Bodø BEAT Academy
Bodø BEAT invites aspiring young percussionists, professionals and music lovers into this brand new Academy. In today's musical life, with a huge variety of concerts and other musical events, the percussionist faces unique professional difficulties compared with previous eras. First and foremost: it is no longer enough to simply be a good percussionist. The profession of freelancer, which is quickly establishing itself and is increasingly chosen by musicians, requires the polyfunctionality of a performer, which is becoming the main challenge today and in the near future. Within the Academy, Bodø BEAT aims to create a safe space in which we all can complement each other’s strengths and weaknesses to create and learn new techniques, share musical ideas, and delve into different areas of the creative process. We are very proud to present this year's academy faculty who will help to provide complementary skills and ideas, and will improve musicianship and musical knowledge. Bodø BEAT Academy values inclusion and equality and it is meant as a musical and cultural exchange, in a low key and open environment.
